Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the skin. As a filler it restores volume, defines contours and hydrates; its effect is temporary and reversible, since it can be dissolved if needed.
I use it for lip augmentation, non-surgical rhinoplasty (correcting small irregularities of the nose), under-eye hollows, cheeks, chin and jawline. My goal is harmony of the whole face: often a small amount in the right place gives a more natural result.
As a plastic surgeon, I will also tell you when a filler is not the best option. If you want a major change to your nose, rhinoplasty gives a permanent result; if there is sagging, a biostimulator or a facelift may be better.
A filler is not the same as biopolymers. Hyaluronic acid is an approved, absorbable product; biopolymers are unauthorized substances that cause serious complications, which I treat on the biopolymer removal page.

Will it look obvious?
It should not. I aim for a natural result in proportion with your face; if it is your first time, I prefer to start with a small amount.
Does it hurt?
A topical anesthetic is used and most products already contain anesthetic, so discomfort is mild.
What is a non-surgical rhinoplasty?
It reshapes the nose with hyaluronic acid, without surgery: it can disguise a small hump or lift the tip. It does not make the nose smaller or fix breathing problems; that requires rhinoplasty.
Can it be removed if I do not like it?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase.
How is it different from biopolymers?
Hyaluronic acid is an approved, absorbable and reversible product. Biopolymers are unauthorized, permanent substances that can cause serious complications years later.
